Tidewater is awarded task order under USACE MEDCOM for Facility Support in Japan

Tidewater was awarded a task order under their Facilities Support contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers - Huntsville Center to provide Facility Management, Technical and Administrative Support for the U.S. Army Medical Activity Japan (MEDDAC-J). The MEDDAC-J facilities in Japan include health clinics in Tokyo and Okinawa. The Tidewater team will be providing technical resources to support the Medical Command facility community in Japan to assure that all systems are brought up to safety and code compliance through preventative maintenance activities and repair maintenance activities during a five year period commencing September 2011.

Tidewater-Sovereign Joint Venture wins NAVFAC Mid Atlantic RAO/LTM MATOC

On September 09, 2011, NAVFACE Mid Atlantic awarded Tidewater an 8(a) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for Remedial Action Operations (RAO)/Long Term Management (LTM), for the Navy Mid-Atlantic Area of Responsibility. The contract amount shared by Tidewater and the three other firms is $65 million. Tidewater won this contract as a joint venture with Sovereign Consulting, Inc. This contract provides Tidewater with a great opportunity to expand our environmental footprint with the department of the Navy.

Tidewater receives USACE Ft. Worth District MATOC for Environmental Remediation and Consulting Services

On September 08, 2011, USACE’s Ft. Worth District notified Tidewater that we were one of only five firms to receive a Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for Environmental Remediation and Consulting Services for the Corps and its customers. The contract amount shared by Tidewater and the four other firms is $20 million. The successful bidders were credited with having provided the best value to the Government of over 20 total competitive proposals, considering both technical qualifications and cost. This contract provides Tidewater with an opportunity to expand our geographic coverage and become a formidable force as a Nationwide provider of environmental consulting and remediation services. Tidewater looks forward to demonstrating its potential for a significant portion of the tasks comprising the total award.

Tidewater-Maxymillian Joint Venture wins USACE Kansas City PRAC MATOC

In a Joint Venture with Massachusetts-based Maxymillian Technologies, Inc. (MT), Tidewater, Inc. received notice from the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Kansas City District, in May 2010 of its 8(a) award for a Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for Pre-Placed Remedial Action Services (PRAC).  The TWMT JV will be eligible for task orders totaling up to $25 million, providing a wide range of environmental remedial action services to the Kansas City District.

Tidewater is awardee in USACE Galveston MATOC

On March 26, 2010, Tidewater was named and awarded under a Multiple Award Task Order Contract from the US Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, with total MATOC value of $225 million over five years.  The Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) is for design-build, design-bid-build, and construction services for civil projects, military missions, and International and Interagency (IIS) customers of the Southwestern Division (SWD) of USACE.  The scope of the MATOC is for a wide variety of new construction, maintenance, repair, and alteration projects. The work will include, but not be limited to anchored earth retention, breakwaters, jetties, spillways, bulkheads, embankments, dikes, flood control channels and structures, marine related structures such as gates and locks, dams, levees as well as anti-terrorism and force protection, outdoor recreation facilities, and park and recreational open space improvements.

Tidewater wins NAVFAC SE BOA

In late October 2009, Tidewater received notification of a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE), under the SBA 8(a) program.  The BOA covers a wide range of environmental Remedial Action Operations/Long Term Management (RAO/LTM) activities for the Navy’s Region 6.  The Navy will be able to place task orders with Tidewater up to $3.5 million in value.
RAO/LTM services to be provided services may include the following: (1) inspection and reporting of remediation systems operating conditions, the use of supplies and replacement of equipment; (2) identification of system upgrades to improve system operations or remediation efficiency and to otherwise reduce life-cycle costs at the site; and (3) performing limited chemical treatments, contaminant source removals, or other physical treatments to improve efficiency of ongoing site remediation.

Tidewater recently received confirmation from the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) of its award for a Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction 2009 (WERC 09) to provide services under WERC 09 in the months ahead. AFCEE will use WERC 09 to provide a full range of methods, technologies, and mission critical support nationally as well as internationally to remedy site conditions in accordance with technical and regulatory requirements, and to provide limited minor construction and ancillary services.

Tidewater Announces Acquisition of Radiological Capabilities of Chesapeake Nuclear Services

Tidewater, Inc. announced today that it has acquired the radiological field and consulting capabilities of Chesapeake Nuclear Services, Inc. of Annapolis, Maryland and hired their key personnel. The Tidewater-Chesnuc Radiological Services Division will provide support to nuclear fuel cycle and allied radioactive materials clients, including those in nuclear energy, defense, environmental remediation, and radioactive waste disposition market sectors. The acquisition will complement Tidewater's environmental, remedial construction, and health and safety service sectors with a comprehensive scope of radiological program management and technical health physics consulting capability-including reciprocal radioactive materials licensing for decommissioning activities nationwide.

New Safety Initiative at NIST

Tidewater is taking on new responsibilities at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Tidewater recently received a task order for safety survey work for NIST's Building Fire Research Laboratory (BFRL). The surveys to be conducted by Tidewater's NIST team will involve reviews of existing documentation, such as previous Risk Assessment reports; interviews with BFRL managers and division safety representatives on potental hazards; walkthroughs of each several labs, includin discussions with lab personnel; research on specific areas of concern; trainng surveys, including training requirements, training sufficiency, training plans, and trainin record-keeping; use of personal protective equipment; and diagnostic testin. Oral presentations and a written report will be provided to the BFRL. This new task order is an important next step in Tidewater's efforts to safeguard the workplace health and safety of NIST employees.

Cairo Storage Tank Project

Tidewater recently completed a very successful replacement and installation of two steel above ground storage tanks (ASTs), one underground storage tank (UST), and associated components at three off-post locations of the United States Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. The work was performed under Tidewater’s contract with the US Department of State, Office of Overseas Buildings Operations. During preliminary meetings at the site, Tidewater and Embassy staff discussed and coordinated all activities related to post access for local contractors, security procedures, health and safety practices, work and equipment storage areas, and dust control activities. Tidewater’s local subcontractor had carried out relevant preparatory work, allowing removal and installation tasks to proceed smoothly. Following installation, Tidewater conducted a final quality assurance check of all system components and operations, prior to handing over the off-post stations to Embassy personnel.

Tidewater restores safe environment at USDA Rose Garden site

Since the beginning of March, Tidewater,Inc has been engaged in soil remediation/removal project at the Rose Garden site at the Department of Agriculture's Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (USDA/BARC). Under a $500,000 task order with USDA's Agricultural Research Service, Tidewater prepared EPA- approved work plans for evaluating a 2-acre former research area that was contaminated years ago by DDT and other pesticides. In an onsite laboratory, Tidewater is running immunoassay samples to help guide soil excavation activities, and to ensure cleanup of soil to EPA-negotiated action levels. To date, about 1,000 tons of contaminated soil have been removed from the site, sent to a treatment plan in Richmond, VA, treated, and recycled for productive re-use. The site will be restored with clean backfill and topsoil and graded to its origional contours. Based on fixed lab confirmation sample results, EPA will then release the site for USDA's unrestricted use. Tidewater expects to finish the project under budget and ahead of schedule.

Tidewater assists NIST with safety standards

Tidewater, Inc has been conducting extensive air and noise monitoring in a Portland cement, aggregate, and asphalt standards processing plant at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD. NIST prepares and packages standards of these materials for shipment to engineering laboratories throughout the world. Hazards faced by NIST employees working in these operations include exposures to Silica, Hexavalent Chromium, nuisance dust, and high noise levels. By measuring actual exposures, Tidewater has recommended the type of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - such as respirators and hearing protectors- that should be used to maintain safe conditions for NIST employees. An occupational safety report is being prepared that contains additional conclusions and recommendations to improve employee safety.

Colombo Sri Lanka gas station project completed in record time

Over 18 work days in March and April, Tidewater completed its first-ever total gasoline station installation project in Colombo, Sri Lanka for the US State Department. Project development included construction of a canopy over the fuel dispensers, and the entire effort was completed in record time, prompting favorable comments from Tidewater's client for the efficiency and quality of the project work.

The minimum value of this contract to Tidewater is $10 million over the next five years.

On February 5, 2009, Tidewater was recognized by the Northern Virginia Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) as the Small Business Sustaining Member of the Year for 2008. This was the second consecutive year that Tidewater received this recognition from SAME’s Northern Virginia Post. The annual awards recognize individuals and firms that contribute generously to the success of the Post. Tidewater has also been nominated for SAME’s comparable national award, the Robert B. Flowers Small Business of the Year for 2008; for 2007, Tidewater received an Honorable Mention for the Flowers award.

Tidewater employee received SHA Employee of the Year Award

Maryland State Highway Administration held its 2007 Training and Recognition Awards day on June 24, 2008. With the Deputy Administrator of Maryland State Highway Administration, Doug Rose attending as Chief Guest. With close to 300 people in attendance, one of Tidewater's employees, Mr. Kanishka Wijetunga, working for District 5 of the SHA, was awarded the "Employee of the Year" award!

The award was handed out by District Engineer Mr. Greg Welker, who delivered a speech acknowledging Kanishka's professional contributions as the Database Administrator at the District Office. Mr. Welker also appreciated Kanishka's continuous involvement with District 5 Office's Quality Circle, and recognized his exemplary customer service skills that reinforced SHA's drive for excellence in Customer Service. Kanishka received a certificate of appreciation for his 2 years of service to SHA DO 5 from Mr. Doug Rose.
